Today, January 29, 2025, is the Chinese New Year’s Day. Pittsburgh Chinese Cultural Center volunteers came to Hampton Middle School and Hampton High School to celebrate Chinese New Year with the Chinese class students and their teacher Ms. Xiaojing Zhang. Students learned about Chinese New Year traditions, practiced Chinese New Year greetings in Mandarin, and got their red packets! They also paraded in traditional Chinese lion dance props around the school! It was a joyful day for everyone involved.
今天，2025年1月29日，是中国农历新年。匹兹堡中华文化中心的志愿者们来到汉普顿初中和高中，与中文班的同学们和老师张小静女士一起庆祝中国新年。学生们了解了中国新年的传统，用普通话练习了中国新年祝福，并获得了红包！最让同学们兴奋的是他们还得以戴上中国传统狮子舞的狮子道具在学校里游行！大家都表示今天的农历新年经历令人难忘，非常有意义。
